Natural Resource Program Manager, Section Chief
The WI Department of Natural Resources is hiring three (3)
Section Chief positions in the Natural Resources Program Manager classification
within our Environmental Management Division. All three positions will
be stationed at the Central Office in Madison. The working titles for each
position are: Water Evaluation Section Chief, Chief of Permits Section, and
Business Services Information Technology Section Chief.In partnership with individuals and organizations, the DNR
staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air, and water resources while
promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor
activities.

The Business Support and Information Technology Section Chief position leads, directs and administers all policy, budget, personnel, owner financial responsibility, information technology and communication activities within the Business Support and Information Technology (BSIT) Section in the Water Quality Program (WY), Division of Environmental Management (EM). Section chief positions within the Division are expected to perform their duties in service to the entire Division and with the full scope of the Water Quality Program in mind. This position is responsible for developing, directing, coaching, mentoring and supervising permanent and LTE staff. This position serves on management teams and is expected to be an active contributor. This position is a member of the EM Division’s Business Services Team. Customer and partner groups may include DNR staff, citizens, citizen groups, industry leaders, tribal governments, and governmental and educational representatives.
Special Notes: The DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form (I9) upon hire.
•Knowledge and experience with Water Quality programs: including paid or unpaid experiences working with Water Resources policies, Wastewater, Water Permits, and/ or Lake and River water programs.
•Experience in a Leadership role: including counseling, leading teams, team building, and/ or project management.
Additionally, for the Business Services Information Technology Section
Chief position only, the following criteria is also
required:
•Education or experience in a fiscal management
role such as a specialist, consultant, or comparable position in a budget or
fiscal management related field.
•Experience in a Supervisory position: including hiring, dismissing,
counseling, and/ or performance management.
•Experience working for or
partnering with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
